Highly social and playful, often travelling in pods of 30 to 200. They rest in protected lagoons during the day after hunting all night. In Egypt these resident pods are found only in the south, at Sataya (Fury Shoals) and Samadai reefs near Marsa Alam. Approach is highly regulated: boats stay at distance, swimmers enter quietly from the side, no chasing.
