About this trip
Magawish is the underrated alternative to Giftun. Quieter beach, calmer water, and a reef that starts in knee-deep water on the south side. We aim for the inner lagoon first thing in the morning, when there is one other boat in sight at most. The water clarity is identical to Orange Bay but with a fraction of the crowd.

Trip-specific questions
How long do we spend on the beach?
Two to three hours, plus two reef snorkel stops on the way. The schedule is flexible because the boat is yours for the day at this size, if your group wants more beach and less reef, the captain shifts the order.
Is there shade on the island?
Limited natural shade. We rent two beach umbrellas per booking and the boat has a covered upper deck if the sun gets too strong. Bring a UPF rash vest if you burn easily.
Can my kids stand in the shallow water?
Yes, that is the selling point of Magawish. The south side stays calf to knee deep for the first 30 metres, then drops gently to chest deep at the reef edge. A lifeguard watches the snorkel zone during peak hours.
How does it compare to Orange Bay?
Same Red Sea, similar visibility, a fraction of the crowd. Orange Bay has more striking white sand and a longer beach, Magawish has calmer water, fewer boats, and a friendlier shallow. Pick Magawish if you have kids or want quiet over postcard.
